Some time back we were invited to a presentation on residential assisted living. One outstanding and impressive statistic is that this year, 12,000 Americans will retire daily. DAILY!!
As in past years, there are large numbers of seniors looking for housing that can accommodate their new situation. A place that is not as demanding (or not demanding at all) as home ownership is, where there is a sense of community (many have lost their significant others, or are no longer in a relationship and family is far away) and where there can be assistance in case of health challenges.
At the same time, we ran into a client that has a house that has a good layout to be used for residential assisted living. This is a normal 3 bedrooms, 2 bathroom house. He was moving to another state for his business. And as we discussed the purchase of this property, somehow we got into the retirement conversation.
Our client is now our partner. He is now living in another state, receiving consistent passive income from his property that is much higher than what he would receive as a regular rental house.
