The Young family came to us looking for downsizing. Their current suburbia home was too big now that most of the kids were gone. They decided on the route of renting their house to increase their personal income.
Their wishes were not extravagant. Mr. Young always wanted land, and a man’s cave. Ms. Young needed a large kitchen, as one of their children was still at home. They were both interested on starting gardening as their first couple adventure after raising a family.
We were able to find them a double wide… rent to own! This property is on a 20,000 square foot lot, with a shed in the back. The 2,200 square foot interior gave them plenty of space for their child and their personal needs.
This home also gave them the opportunity to test the waters in a completely different kind of environment. It is located 15 minutes from the closest grocery store, which is not far but it is also not what they had in their suburban home. And having the next door neighbor several yards away was not something that they were used to.
They have been in their new home for 3 months, and thoroughly enjoying it. And a nice bonus is that the income from the rent of their original home pays for the rent of the new one, and leaves some extra for other things. The sale agreement becomes due within 18 months, which will give them plenty of time to decide if this is the kind of life they want.
